Why I want to lose weight
Before we start this course we wanted to share some of the individual reasons why people want to lose weight. Asking yourself why you want to lose weight is a powerful motivator for taking action and maintaining your goals.
“For me, it’s about being able to run around with my little boy in the park and not just having to sit on a bench and watch him”.
“I’d like to put on nice clothes, look in the mirror and feel good about myself again. I used to really take pride in what I wore and I have so many beautiful clothes in the wardrobe that don’t fit me anymore. Now, all I wear is loose fitting, stretchy clothes. I would love to get back into some of my old clothes again. That would feel like a real achievement”.
“I’ve just become a grandad and I feel like it’s given me a bit of a new perspective. I want to be around for many years to come. I want to take my granddaughter to the zoo, the park, the aquarium – I want to take her everywhere! To do that, I need to start taking care of myself”.
“As I’ve put on weight over the years, my social life has deteriorated. I don’t feel comfortable going out anymore as I just feel so self-conscious, thinking that everyone is looking at me, talking about how much weight I’ve put on. I don’t want to feel like this anymore. I want to get my life back, feel more energetic and just happier in myself”.
“I’ve always been healthy despite my weight. Never had any health problems. Recently, I discovered my blood glucose levels are higher than normal so I’m at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. That’s scared me. I can’t ignore this, now is the time I need to do something about it”.
“I’ve tried so many diets over the years, which maybe work for a short-time but I always end up putting the weight back on, plus a bit more. Even with all of my attempts, I don’t think I’ve ever embraced changes fully, just viewed them as short-term solutions. I’m at the point now where I need to do this seriously”.
“It’s a weird thing to say but I love and hate food equally. I love eating it but I hate the power it has over me. It’s my go-to whenever I’m feeling any upset, sad, angry, stressed and even happy. I need to change not just my physical relationship with food, but my emotional one. So my goal is to have a healthier relationship with food.”

. My weight makes me feel deeply miserable uncomfortable and has plagued me for over 30 years of my life.
I have no control over it and have lost motivation.
I have 40 kg to loose

To get as close as possible to healthy range, and relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis (aches and pains). Also have more energy to improve my swimming stats and be able to participate in more difficult and longer events.
